Wineserver is the official instructor of the Spanish Wine Scholar course in Finland. Spain is a fascinating wine country and certainly offers something for every wine lover. The Spanish Wine Scholar course book covers the geography and history of Spain as a whole, as well as the history and culture of each wine region. Spain has a long history of winemaking and today produces very different types of wine – the fresh, acidic and mineral white wines of Galicia, the often slightly tangy Txacoli of the Basque Country, the full-bodied Ribeira del Duero, Sherry, Cava, Moscatel, etc. Not forgetting the traditional Rioja, which has also undergone many changes as a wine region in recent years.

Spain has the largest vineyards in the world and ranks third in terms of production after France and Italy. The country has undergone major changes in recent years and this course will give you the latest information on Spanish wines.
The textbook is over 300 pages long and access to the study material on the Wine Scholar Guild website is valid for one year. The main focus of the school days is on wine tasting and analysis. The course book and exam are in English. The course concludes with a 100-question multiple-choice exam lasting one hour. Those who pass the exam will receive a pin, a diploma and the title Spanish Wine Scholar (SWS).
